Speaker Profile:

Shri Snehal Tranlsawala has passed out B.E. Chem. From DDIT in 1986 and Masters in Chemical Engineering from Villanova University US Philadelphia. He has also done one year Programme on Certificate of Business Excellence with University of California, Berkely. He has worked with multinational company in US for 9 years. He returned to Bharuch in 1998 and since then have worked with UPL, Isagro, Cheminova, Omnova Solution in local area in the field of production, Operation Excellence and Safety. Currently he is self-employed in commercial/financial areas. He is Hon. Treasurer IIChE Ankleshwar Regional Centre Bharuch.

 Expert lecture description:

Expert talk was organized by Chemical Engineering Department, GEC Bharuch on “Depreciation on Plant and Machinery” under the banner of   IIChE student’s chapter.

 

Following topics were covered in Expert lecture.

  • Book Value.  
  • Replacement Value
  • Salvage and scrap valule
  • Methods of calculating Depreciation

In the expert lecture, Mr. Snehal Tralsawala explained the basic terms like Book value, Scrap value, Salvage Value and their importance in   project management. He has discussed about Straight line method, Declining balance method, Double Declining method and sum of the years Digit method. He explained Depreciation for industrial operations with various case studies. Students were able to understand the Significance of Economics in the field of Chemical Engineering.
