Speaker profile:
Mr. Shivadev Rao Shinde has passed out B.E. from Osmania University in the year 2007. He did masers in Heat Power Engineering from VNIT, Nagpur in the year 2010. He joined ISRO, Ahmedabad in the same year. Since then he is working as a Thermal Engineer looking after payloads for various space crafts. He has worked in GSAT-10, GSAT-11, GSAT-16 satellites in communication side. He has also worked in remote sensing payloads also which involves thermal design and development of HYSIS payload which flown successfully. Currently he is working on OCEANSAT and NISAR payload thermal design and development.
Expert lecture description:
Following topics were covered in Expert lecture.
• Basics of orbits
• Contribution of ISRO in various fields.
• Sources of heat loads.
• Design philosophy.
• How can we calculate solar load?
• How do we calculate earth IR and Albedo load?
In the expert lecture, Mr. Shivadev explained the importance of heat transfer, how the basics of heat transfer are applied to produce various equipments which are used in the satellite and the satellite launch vehicle. He also explained about the various types of orbits, their basics and various special orbital of the artificial satellites. He nicely discussed about various heat
loads and the sources of heat loads. Further continuing the lecture, he explained about the design philosophy adapted by ISRO in research and converting those research and findings into application of physical world.
